Description & Location

Description & Location

Oewerzicht is a fully operational farm, harvesting apples, pears, broccoli and cauliflower for most of the year. The rest of the farm consists of rolling wheat lands, large flocks of sheep and if you are lucky, you'll also see a herd of Reebok roaming freely on the farm. Birdwatchers will also be delighted to see, amongst other, blue cranes, secretary birds, and large flocks of guinea fowl.

Guests are welcome to hike the trails on the farm or bring mountain bikes along to enjoy the magnificent scenery through the orchards. Bikes can also be rented in the village. Children will have a wonderful time on the farm with its stretch-out lawns, and guests are welcome to bring their well-behaved dogs (max 1 per cottage, or 2 small dogs, but only on arrangement) along to the self-catering units (unfortunately no pets allowed at the campsite or tents). The owners' child-friendly Boxer, Katy, loves popping in and saying hello to guests visiting the farm.

Latest Upgrade

A new addition to Oewerzicht farm accommodation is our outdoor wood-fired hot tubs. Each hot tub can seat about 4-6 people and the water is kept warm by a small heating oven below the water level. We have two hot tubs at our Greyton accommodation in Vigne lane. The DeHoop Victorian House (10 sleeper) and the The DeHoop cottage (4 sleeper) each have their own hot tub.

The DeHoop Victorian house has the hot tub close the braai and outdoor entertainment area. Easy to watch the kids or enjoy a quick warm up while you braai. The DeHoop cottage has the hot tub nestled around the corner of the house making it a bit more private. The tubs will be clean and ready to use on your arrival, all you need to do is to keep adding pieces of wood to the oven to keep the water warm.
